While the clock ticks down to the beginning of Amerivespa 2017 in Seattle, one of the world’s other major Vespa gatherings wrapped up in Celle, Lower Saxony, Germany Sunday.
Riders came from as far away as St. Petersburg, Russia and Tirana, Albania for Vespa World Days 2017. Celle is a city of 71000 located northeast of Hanover, in an area known as the Tuscany of Germany.

Even the mayor of Celle went on a ride. Celle is celebrating its 725th birthday in 2017, and at least 725 scooters were in attendance.
There were lots of rides, of course.
And the usual scooter shenanigans.
The city of Celle hosted a giant banquet.
As you can see, German food is not just schnitzel.
Of course there was music. A visit to Celle’s Culture Center was also part of the activities.
In case you didn’t know, these were German. Like BMW, the Messerschmitt aircraft company was required to find a new line of business after WWII ended.
This was also on display. It’ll buff out, no problem.
There’s much more to see on Vespa World Days 2017’s website and Facebook page.
