No, this is not a Photoshop chop. It’s real, and after the jump you can watch a video in which it gets ridden.

The engine is from a Yamaha FZR600. As you can see, this project is quite well engineered and well-executed.


 
There’s another video (somewhere) that shows the rider taking his feet off the pegs and extending his legs over the cowls. It’s not hard to imagine one’s legs getting rather, uh, warm.

    I saw that last summer, and showed it around the (now-shuttered) shop. Completely sick.

    So, the very first thing I said when I saw the picture was, “Fake.” Not even kidding. I’m glad you put some evidence in there to the contrary, because even after you said it’s not shopped I didn’t really believe.

    I suppose people build things like this because they can for much the same reason climbers climb mountains because they’re there. Sure makes for an interesting story.
