A shrubbery! Or two…

Some who ride scooters do so to make a statement about environmental impact. In places like Indonesia, where most people ride scooters and motorbikes, making such a statment requires a bit more ingenuity.

A group of guerilla performance artists rode around wearing helmets that contained potted plants. Look closely and you’ll see the helmets are not kludged-up improvisations (or upside-down DEVO hats), but complete full-face helmets. With a place for potting soil.

Be sure not to miss the reaction of the one guy not wearing a flower pot, at about 33 seconds in. It’s priceless. Favicon

Thanks for posting that Orin. I can think of many issues that those trees give rise to running from social (a whole other dimension of dementia), to automotive (clearance?), to botanical (pruning; are plants meant to travel that fast?), to physical (imagine the drag at 60 mph!), to practical (how often do you water?), to ecological (what happens when a rare species nests in it?), to medical (could the roots tap your brain?), and I’m sure there are others that aren’t immediately coming to mind.

    Dear Orin:

The last time I saw a large group of nearly functional vegetables, they were in Congress.

    Fondest regards,
