Geh in mah Element!

Scooter in an Element

Here's how you carry a scooter in a Honda Element (Scoot SWLA photo)

Okay, I’ve shown you how to fit a scooter into a Ford Transit Connect. Above you can see how to put a P/PX or Stella into a Honda Element.

Paul of Scoot SWLA is the owner of the Element and the scooter. He mentioned elsewhere that he found it easier to load the bike through the side doors vs. the split tailgate. An Element’s rear seats fold out of the way or can be removed completely, as was done here. As you can see, there’d be more than enough room to add a smallframe, or maybe even a Buddy.

And if your scooter won’t fit inside, no worries. Honda rated the original Element’s trailer-towing capacity at 1500 lbs, and offers an Element-specific hitch receiver through Honda dealer parts departments. Favicon

Too bad they’re not producing the Element anymore, I like ’em a lot. It’s a very distinctive design without being silly or faux-retro. I bet in 20 years they’ll be very fondly remembered.

We considered it when we bought our Forester, but with two kids, the fifth seat seemed like a necessity.

Sweet, Erin has an element, I was wondering if I had to get a hitch and trailer.
