It’s still rally season, somewhere

Rally season may have wound down in Seattle, but not in Southeast Asia:

Who Rides a Vespa? photo

Last weekend (Dec. 1-2, 2007) saw the third annual Vespa Attack in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. John Rana of Who Rides a Vespa? was in the thick of it, and you can read his report here. There are links to tons of pictures, so be sure to have a look.

Also crossing the e-mail transom was this MySpace bulletin from the Aj Scooter Club of Singapore:

Guys & Gals,

Aj Scooter Club will be attending the PSK ’07 Scooter Meet in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 15th & 16th of December 2007. All itinerary and plans for accommodations have been finalised.

Fellow Aj scooterists who have confirmed their participation kindly ensure that their scooters are in good condition and that all safety aspects have been covered, for this 800km ride.
Everyone will gather at ‘The Shop’ by 12pm for briefing and some final ‘checks’ before our move off by 1pm.

Safety is Utmost!!! So please have your riding gloves, jackets and a “decent” helmet with visors for the ride. And kindly include your personal ‘work tools’, as well a reliable raincoat for this journey!

That’s a ride I’d love to be on. As you can see on the map, there’s a major highway between the two cities, but I wonder if the Ajs are planning to take a scenic route. Favicon
