Café Racer reopens

Today is the official reopening of Seattle’s Café Racer, where you may recall a mentally ill gunman shot five people, four of them fatally, on May 30.
There’s new paint on the walls, a new floor, and a new surface on the bar. The walls are painted brighter colors, and artwork will soon be hanging (the O.B.A.M.A. gallery is already hung).
Owner Kurt Geissel’s open letter to the community has appeared throughout Seattle media, and you can read it here.
There was a soft opening on Wednesday and Thursday; the place will no doubt be packed tonight.

If you’re in the neighborhood, stop in and have a Wonder Weiner. It’s quite good. ![]()
