Blue vs. Grey

The South has been on my mind lately. Just read The Help and To Kill a Mockingbird, and I’m trying to decide whether to tackle Gone With the Wind. Oh, and there’s a scooter rally coming up in Nashville, Tenn.
The 150th Anniversary of the Civil War is being celebrated throughout the former Confederacy (and in a lot of Union states, too). Scootnashville.com‘s first-ever scooter rally happens June 1-3, 2012 in and around the Music City.
Details can be found on the event’s Facebook page. There will be rides to historic battlefield sites and other activities that are still in the planning stages. You can register online for the Blue vs. Grey Scooter Rally now. ![]()

Both very good reads, Orin. If you finish ever Gone with the Wind let me know if it was worth the hassle. The only ‘epic’ read I think I’ve finished are The Stand, and … well, I can’t call any others to mind. I enjoy a good story but I’m such a child of the tech generation. I get a bit, well, anxious for an explosion.

Behind Bars
As a member of scootnashville.com, all I can say is THANK YOU, ORIN for this shoutout.
I learned tonight that Scooter Mercado is putting a flyer in every order that goes out from them, which is AMAZING. We hope to put together a memorable event, and Ross, Willy and Graham are doing all they can to ensure that. We’re actually in the process of forming a non-profit organization to try to make the rally an annual event.
You’re welcome, Jeff. I would attend, if I had something I could schlep the GTS around with… the historic tie-in is unique among scooter rallies, and living in a place where white European settlement only dates back about 150 years give one an appreciation for the longer history of states to the east…
