Yes, everything's less than two dollars

The sign at the 76 station at California & Andover said 1.799. They only post the price of regular, but they have judiciously followed the 10-cent increment rule in the recent past. Could it be?

YES! Premium for a tenth of a penny under two dollars! Who knew? There’s even talk of dollar-a-gallon regular, which would require crude oil to fall to about $10 below Friday’s $40.81/barrel closing price. This is something I thought we’d never see again, though I’m inclined to believe we should be enjoying this while we can.

I was topping off the GTS’ tank in preparation for Yule Scoot ‘08. The rain that had been predicted for Saturday stayed away until late in the evening, and even then it was just a brief shower. It was fun, but unfortunately Candy Cane Lane was pitch dark, the annual decoration extravaganza starting a week later this year (maybe to reduce peoples’ electric bills…?). You can see pics here

you guys are lucky. Gas is still over $3. /US gal up here in Vancouver and we are also getting ripped off on Premium. Down your way premium used to be $0.10+ over regular. Up here we pay $0.10+ per liter for premium which is around $.38c+ /US gal. It’s a good thing that we don’t use much.

With the way the economy is going, I’m not sure if prices will stay this low, or there will be an uptick again in 2009. It’s a good thing overall, but as johnny above notes it may cause people to return to the old gas guzzling ways. Does this mean a bunch of scoots will be up for sale on craigslist???

Chewy has posted some Yule Scoot pics, too.
